Illegal Alien Arrested for Manslaughter in Baltimore by ICE

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested a 27-year-old Dominican Republican national in Baltimore on Thursday, who was wanted for manslaughter in his home country, according to the agency.

Officers from ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Baltimore apprehended the individual at his home and ordered him to appear at a Department of Justice immigration hearing.

“This Dominican national came to Maryland in an attempt to evade a serious charge in his home country,” said ERO Baltimore Acting Field Office Director Matthew Elliston. “He posed a significant threat to our Maryland communities. ERO Baltimore will not allow Maryland to become a safe haven for the world’s criminals.”

The individual was charged with injury causing death in 2022, according to ICE. He purportedly entered the U.S. without inspection, admittance, or parole by immigration officials. Earlier this month, ERO Baltimore learned his car was at the scene of a drug distribution and trafficking investigation in the city.

Since October, the Baltimore field office has arrested more than 270 people. Baltimore’s foreign-born population, which makes up eight percent of the city’s residents, has received support from Mayor Brandon Scott through initiatives aimed at minimizing social disparities.
