Mike Rogers to Newsmax: I’m Running on ‘Kitchen Table’ Issues

Former Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich., is running his U.S. Senate campaign on “kitchen table” issues, he told Newsmax Saturday.

Speaking to “America Right Now,” Rogers said his campaign stands apart from the “big things that Democrats are talking about” and instead focuses on everything from “the government wants to take away your pickup truck, your gas stove, and your gas water heater to the cost of groceries and gasoline and household goods” being “$1,000 a month more” since “Joe Biden took office.”

“People are hurting here in the state of Michigan,” Rogers continued. “So our thing is we’re talking to people and offering solutions that are going to impact them at their kitchen table, their workplace, and the commute to get there.”

According to FiveThirtyEight, Rogers has been running relatively even with his Democrat opponent, Rep. Elissa Slotkin, since late April. Since then, polls have shown a mix in favorability for both candidates.
