Republicans are losing faith in the U.S. judicial system, according to a new survey.

Politico Magazine and Ipsos teamed up to conduct a poll a little more than a week after President Donald Trump was found guilty of falsifying business records in New York.

Asked how much faith they had in state court judges, only 39% of Republicans say they have a great deal or a fair amount, the Politico/Ipsos poll found. That’s a 10-point drop from July.

As for trust of district attorneys, state attorneys, and prosecuting attorneys, only 32% of Republicans say they have a great deal or a fair amount, the poll found. That’s a 9-point drop in 11 months.

Democrats, though, are more confident in the judicial system.

Trust in state court judges among Democrats increased from 48% in July to 61%. Trust among independents is statistically unchanged from July.

Faith in prosecutors among Democrats and independents increased. Dems went from 50% to 55% and independents went from 42% to 47%.

The Politico/Ipsos poll also found that Republicans are less likely to say that current or former elected officials get special breaks in the criminal justice system.

A total of 55% of Republicans say current or former elected officials get special breaks. That’s down from 72% in July.

Democrats dropped just 3 point to 72%, and independents (67%) remained the same from July.

The survey also found that a plurality (40%) of Americans say the Trump verdict has no impact on their likelihood of voting for the former president.

Meanwhile, 6% say that they are more likely to support Trump and the conviction is important to how they will vote.

A total of 22% say they are less likely to support Trump for the presidency and the conviction is important, the poll results found.

The survey also asked whether President Joe Biden was “directly involved” in the decision to bring the criminal case against Trump. A majority of respondents either said yes (29%) or that they did not know (25%).

Asked whether the Justice Department was “directly involved” in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s decision to prosecute Trump, 36% said they thought the DOJ was directly involved while another 34% said that they did not know.

The Politico/Ipsos poll was conducted June 7-9 among 1,027 Americans 18 and older. There’s a plus/minus 3.2 percentage point margin of error with a 95% confidence level.

The survey was conducted before first son Hunter Biden was found guilty of three felony gun charges in Delaware.
