Former President Donald Trump learned “quite a lot” from Nigel Farage, the Brexit mastermind claims in a new interview.

Trump saw Farage’s career as a firebrand in the European Parliament as a model when he decided to run for the White House, Farage told ITV Tonight.

“He’s learned quite a lot from me,” Farage said. “I think it goes both ways.”

“He was watching my speeches in the European Parliament for many years before he decided to run,” Farage added.

Pressed if Trump had explicitly offered that insight, Farage insisted: “I know that to be true.”

Running for Parliament in the U.K. as leader of the right-flank Reform UK, Farage was a member of the European Parliament from 1999 until the U.K.’s withdrawal from the European Union in 2020, Politico reported.

During that stint, his speeches posted to You Tube attracted large audiences — and riled Brussels, Belgium, where the EP’s Parliamentary Committee activity takes place, the outlet reported.

Farage was the first British politician to meet Trump after his 2016 election, and often interviewed him, Politico reported.

But Farage firmly denied to ITV he’s Great Britain’s version of Trump.

“I think we’re very different,” he told ITV. “I think we think the same on many things.”
