Democratic City Council Member Attacks Officer, Then Screams “Brutality”

Democrats will go out of their way to assure they don’t take the blame themselves, won’t they? Even if they’re seemingly guilty of something.

They just refused to admit that such a thing occurred, no matter how much proof exists.

A bizarre news story over at Fox News highlights the latest example of this, focusing on a Democratic New York City council member named Susan Zhuang.

A little while back, Zhuang found herself arrested during a protest against a proposed homeless shelter in Brooklyn. There was reportedly an attack made by her, as she bit Deputy Police Chief Frank DiGiacomo.

He even showed where she bit him, with a deep enough mark to penetrate the skin.

Now, of course, it’s already strange enough when someone along the lines of a city council member would attack a police officer.

And during a protest against a homeless shelter.

Hang on, it’s about to get worse.

Zhuang has now spoken out against the New York Police Department (NYPD) following her own attack, citing them for arresting her with “brutality.” What’s more, she insists that “Asian hate” was a driving factor in her arrest.

You’re kidding, right?

You bit a police officer, and you have the nerve to go out there and, instead of taking responsibility for your actions, you instead blame the very officers you tried to take a bite out of?

And then have the nerve to call the whole thing racist?

“The excessive force by the NYPD was not necessary. I was very disappointed. There’s no room for brutality or mistreatment of citizens by any officer.

“Police brutality is wrong. The misuse of enforcement is wrong. The act of physical violence against innocent citizens is wrong,” Zhuang noted in a statement following her arrest.

Let’s break down this statement.

The “excessive force” at hand came because you, Ms. Zhuang, bit a police officer.

They do not take such attacks lightly, especially if skin is broken.

Secondly, this was not “brutality” or “mistreatment.”

You attacked one of them and they took measures to assure you wouldn’t attack anyone else. And remember, you’re a member of the city council. Not a hungry tourist.

(Even then, let me reiterate you shouldn’t bite a police officer.)

And you’re “very disappointed”? Look at your position of power, the position you’re in to help people. And instead, you’re treating the NYPD like your own private buffet.

If anything, people should be disappointed in you.

According to Zhuang, her arrest came when she was reportedly trying to help an elderly woman who had become stuck in a barricade.

Apparently, it reminded her of her grandmother.

“I tried to help her, and I was approached from behind. Two police officers handcuffed me, each hand, and one police officer [was] pulling my hair, and another officer grabbed my neck,” she noted.

This writer doesn’t see any validity to this story.

The officer was able to show clear evidence that Zhuang bit him — and unnecessarily so. Meanwhile, there was no word about the police speaking with such a woman.

And no indication that Zhuang was treated differently than any other suspect being arrested.

“Many members of the Asian community have been subject to excessive enforcement and mistreatment by our NYPD. Asian hate in any form must end,” she concluded.

This is just another feeble attempt by a Democrat to smear the police any way they see fit, in an effort to make themselves look good.

They do it way too often, passing the bill instead of paying it. And the men and women in blue, I assure you, are tired of being stuck with it.

Surely Ms. Zhuang will have her day in court and the officer will show the proof that she bit him. And then that should be that, as a council member is instantly expelled once they’re convicted of a felony — which Zhuang will likely be unless the district attorney downfiles the case, and/or lets her off lightly.

He/she shouldn’t. Zhuang should be held accountable instead of blaming a general “it’s hate!” message that’s wrongfully assigned to the NYPD.

They’ve been through enough. The good officers I know wouldn’t do that. Period.

But I bet after this incident, they might consider long-sleeve shirts.
