One of the jurors who voted to convict Hunter Biden told CNN he doesn’t think he belongs in jail.

Jurors found Biden, 54, guilty of lying to a federally licensed gun dealer, making a false claim on the application by saying he was not a drug user and illegally having the gun for 11 days. The jury in Wilmington, Delaware, deliberated for about three hours over two days.

Politics did not come into play in deliberations, Juror No. 10 said.

“It was all about Hunter,” the juror said.

Juror No. 10 said when they began deliberations, it was a 6-6 deadlock, before they were able to come to a unanimous decision to find Biden guilty the next day.

The juror said he was sympathetic to Biden’s past battles with drug addiction, but that it didn’t really come up in the jury room during deliberations on the son of President Joe Biden,.

“It was very sad, not that he was being convicted of these crimes, but that his life had turned out the way it did,” Juror No. 10 said. “It was just the evidence that we were listening to. We didn’t discuss Hunter’s lifestyle. It was very sad.”

The juror said he believed Biden knowingly bought a gun knowing that he was a drug addict and was thus guilty of lying on his background check form.

The Biden family did not come up at all in the deliberations, the juror said.

“President Biden never really came into play for me,” the juror said. “His name was only brought up once during the trial. You kind of put that out of your mind.”

The juror said the decision of Naomi Biden, Hunter’s daughter, to testify did not impact his decision, but said he disagreed with the defense putting her on the stand.

“That was a bad mistake,” the juror said.

Juror No. 10 said jurors did not consider sentencing during their deliberations, but said he doesn’t believe Biden belongs in jail.
