Will School Administrators Ever Truly Defend Our Kids?

Cowardly, Lazy School Administrators Make Up Excuses for Why It’s OK for Kids to Study in War Zones

Do you commute to work daily fearing a vicious beating from one, or more of your coworkers? Are you afraid to be stabbed to death if you don’t reciprocate a colleague’s romantic interest? Do you make alliances with specific groups of burly co-workers hoping that they will protect you from being beaten to death on your way home from work?

If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions, then perhaps it’s best to start exploring new job opportunities, doing so with great vigor.

Another question: If working in an environment in which an adult risks being brutally assaulted at work on a daily basis is deemed unacceptable by our society, why is it that we are turning a blind eye to the fact that so many of our children have no choice but to attend public schools (read government schools) where their lives are at risk daily.

At the time of this writing, young Kaylee Gain is fighting for her life after having her head bashed against the concrete at least three times.

This horrific assault took place on a Friday afternoon near her school. You may watch the video here.

A 15-year-old girl identified as Maurnice Declue has been arrested and charged with assault.

In the video you can see several teens continuing to fight and walking over Kaylee as she is having convulsions.

No one attempts to render assistance.

Two girls are among several teens who meet outside their school for a pre-arranged brawl.

The girl in the hospital is about five inches shorter and approximately 120 pounds lighter than the girl who was arrested.

A female who appears to be an adult (or at an extremely unhealthy weight for her age) looks on as the fight is about to unfold, another young man can be overheard jockeying for position to get a better camera angle for his phone.

Unsurprisingly, the fight is effectively over in mere seconds as Kaylee crumbles to the ground after a barrage of blows from her much larger adversary.

Many of us may have seen incidents like this play out before.

This is real life.

This is how most of these real-life fights end.

Except . . . in this instance, it’s also how most of us watching videos such as these wish it would end.

Returning to the video: As one young lady attempts to stop Maurnice Declue from continuing the attack, the same large female mentioned above, pushes her out of the way and starts to fight with several other women.

As Kaylee lays helpless on the ground, Maurnice Declue grabs Kaylee’s head firmly and so violently smashes it against the concrete, you can hear the precise moment of each thud, the woman slammed Kaylee’s head against the concrete at least three times.

As Kaylee starts having a seizure, Maurnice turns to assisting her male friends who are also engaged in street combat; a few yards away a young man can be seen pummeling another much smaller boy.

Several teenagers can be seen walking over Kaylee as she begins her fight to stay alive.

This is America in real time.

It’s not at all good, and it’s a reality we had better start acknowledging and facing head-on.

In New York City, four kids were murdered near their school in the past year, another 18 were shot or stabbed.

Nationally, our children are being murdered in public schools far more frequently than most Americans realize.

This past November, a 17-year-old boy named Jonathan Lewis Jr. accompanied his friend attempting to retrieve items that other students had stolen from him. Jonathan was beaten to death by 10 of his fellow students one of whom happened to be just 13-years-old.

While the usual suspects never spare a crisis without blaming it on lack of money and resources, it should be noted that the United States spends more than 6% of GDP on education.

Only four other countries spend more money per student than we do.

The situation in Hazelwood East High School is actually instructive of the problem we are facing. While the student to teacher ratio is a commendable 17 to one, the student test scores are scandalously embarrassing. We should be outraged at the fact that only 21% of students can read proficiently, and in math this number is even much lower at 5%.

While the students at Hazelwood struggle to learn basic skills, the school has received several awards for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). While problematic, it isn’t even the most absurd issue in the School. It gets worse.

Hazelwood East made the decision to dismiss all school resource officers because they would not agree to take DEI sensitivity training.

Kaylee Gain may or may not still be alive by the time you read this.

Maurnice Declue may or may not be tried as an adult.

One thing is certain, Americans must stand up and fight back, we must stick up for the kids being sacrificed at the altar of “the soft bigotry of low expectations” as cowardly and lazy administrators make up excuses for why our kids must study in war zones.
