SUN | Mayor Scott reshuffles staff, names new arts office director

Mayor Brandon Scott announced several new hires and promotions in his administration that will take effect in the new year, including leadership changes in the Mayor’s Office of Arts, Culture and Entertainment.

Tracy Falon King will serve as director of communications for the mayor’s office, and former press secretary Silas Woods III was promoted to deputy director of communications.

Noell West assumed the role of assistant deputy mayor for health and human services. Dana P. Moore is now senior adviser for boards and commissions, and Bria Sterling-Wilson will begin her role as director of the Mayor’s Office of Arts, Culture and Entertainment.

King, who has served as interim director of communications since July, previously served as deputy director of communications from March to June. She was director of outreach communications for the Democratic National Committee from April 2023 to November 2024.

Woods served as press secretary adviser for the mayor’s office from March to December and previously worked as deputy director of press operations for the Office of the Vice President of the United States.

West has served as interim assistant deputy mayor for health and human services since May 2024. Before joining the mayor’s office in 2022 as chief of policy and partnerships, West worked for Baltimore City Public Schools for eight years.
