MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (7News) — Emergency responders helped deliver a baby early Friday morning along southbound Interstate 270 in Montgomery County.
Crews were dispatched around 7 a.m. to the southbound lanes of I-270 between Route 28 and Falls Road for a reported medical emergency, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) spokesperson Pete Piringer.
Piringer said as units responded, they were redirected to the exit ramp to Falls Road in Rockville after learning a woman was actively giving birth inside a vehicle stopped on the ramp with its flashers on.

Responding crews found the vehicle and encountered the father, who told them his wife was in labor.
Crews assisted with the delivery of one healthy newborn at the scene.
