HOWARD COUNTY, Md. (WBFF) — Authorities are investigating a fatal collision that occurred after a Howard County police officer attempted a traffic stop.
On January 17, at approximately 1:52 a.m., an officer in an unmarked police vehicle tried to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle on Route 32, near Broken Land Parkway.
Police reported that the vehicle attempted to flee the traffic stop and then crashed into a ramp on the eastbound side towards Broken Land Parkway, causing the vehicle to overturn.

The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to authorities.
The Maryland Attorney General’s Independent Investigations Division assumed the investigation.
