“Bryan Sheppard is a trusted leader with deep experience serving Baltimore County residents,” Klausmeier said. “His strong background in community engagement and government operations makes him well-suited to lead our Recreation and Parks team as we continue expanding access to quality recreational opportunities and green spaces for families and communities across the County.”

Sheppard “brings nearly 30 years of experience in community engagement, constituent services, budget planning and implementation, and program management,” according to a release. He currently serves as a special projects manager in the county’s Property Management department. Sheppard began his career in Baltimore County as a senior legislative aide to County Councilman Sam Moxley and later served as a special assistant to County Executive Kevin Kamenetz.

A confirmation vote will be held by the Baltimore County Council at its February 2 legislative meeting before Sheppard officially assumes the role, which he would hold (in an acting capacity) through the rest of Klausmeier’s term as County Executive.
