WASHINGTON (TNND) — Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Thursday that one million people signed up for “Trump Accounts” this week.
Last month, President Donald Trump shared his plan to create Trump Accounts for American kids in order for them to get a jump start on the American dream.
Children born between 2025 and 2028 are eligible to get a $1,000 contribution from the U.S. government, as part of the Working Families Tax Cuts.
“There will be twenty-five million families who are eligible,” Bessent said.
Rapper and artist Nicki Minaj joined Trump on Wednesday where he made remarks about the Trump accounts.
Minaj praised the president and said she was a supporter of his. She said she would contribute between $150,000 and $300,000 to fund her fans’ Trump accounts.
Bessent encouraged Americans with young children to go fill out a form to set up a Trump account for their kids.
“The next generations of America will benefit from today’s record breaking economy [and] record breaking markets,” Bessent said.
