Elkridge man charged after Glen Burnie traffic stop turns up loaded 9mm Ruger

A traffic stop in Glen Burnie on Friday evening led to an arrest and the seizure of a loaded handgun, according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department.

On Jan. 30, around 5:05 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a black Jeep for an equipment violation in the area of Crain Highway and Hospital Drive.

After a brief investigation, officers found the drive was in possession of a loaded 9mm Ruger handgun.

The driver, identified as 31-year-old Corey Coates of Elkridge, was arrested and charged accordingly.
