Anne Arundel Co. police arrest man tied to Pasadena machete-and-gun robbery

Anne Arundel County police have announced the arrest of a man in connection with an armed robbery in Pasadena.

Officials reported that Nelson Alexander Martinez, 51, of Wheaton, Maryland, was arrested on February 12, 2026.

On February 9, around 3:50 p.m., officers responded to an armed robbery in the 300 block of Caldwell Road.

The investigation revealed that a 45-year-old man was renovating his home when a male suspect approached him, asking to see inside.

The victim invited him to the basement, where the suspect brandished a machete and a handgun, demanding money.

The suspect stole the victim’s phone and bank card and then punched him in the face before fleeing the scene in a black vehicle.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

As the investigation progressed, the suspect was ultimately identified as Martinez.
