Man, teen girl killed; 16-year-old boy injured in Baltimore shootings over weekend

A 36-year-old man and a 15-year-old girl were killed, while a 16-year-old boy was injured in shootings across Baltimore during Valentine’s Day weekend, according to police.

Officers responded on Feb. 14, at about 11:37 p.m., to the 3400 block of Bateman Avenue for reports of a shooting.

Police said officers canvassed the area and found a 16-year-old boy with an apparent non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He was taken by medics to an area hospital for treatment.

A preliminary investigation found the boy was shot while at 3400 Piedmont Ave., police said. Northwest District detectives asked anyone with information to call 410-396-2466 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7Lockup.

Hours later, Northwest officers were called at about 12:36 a.m. on Feb. 15, to a vacant home in the 5200 block of Saint Charles Avenue for a report of a possible deceased person. Police said officers found a 36-year-old man suffering from trauma to the body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a separate case, Western District patrol officers responded at about 2:08 a.m. to a home in the 2100 block of Druid Hill Ave. for a report of a shooting. Police said officers found a 15-year-old girl with an apparent gunshot wound. She was taken by a medic to a local hospital, where she later died.
