SAN ANTONIO – A maintenance worker was arrested after being accused of attempting to sexually assault a woman last summer in her apartment.

Jesus Carlos Rivera, 43, who worked as a maintenance employee at the apartment complex, was identified by the 31-year-old victim, according to the arrest report.

Authorities said the incident occurred on July 8, 2025, at an apartment complex off Fredericksburg Road.

The victim told police Rivera had been seen around the complex over the past two years because of his maintenance work. She said he first came to her unit to fix a sink.

The arrest report says Rivera had been drinking with friends outside earlier that evening before returning alone. Police said he allegedly knocked on the victim’s door, pushed past her when she opened it, and locked the door behind him. The woman told investigators he began kissing her, groping her breasts, and attempting to remove her clothing while making sexual comments.

The victim said she did not scream to avoid waking her children. Her 4-year-old daughter later came out crying, which allowed the woman to push Rivera out of the apartment and lock the door.

Rivera reportedly lingered outside briefly before leaving. She told police that Rivera lived in the complex with his wife and children, but they moved out the next day.

The victim later identified Rivera in a photo lineup.

Bond is set at $50,000.
