BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD (WBFF) — A fast-casual restaurant chain serving classic and spicy chicken tenders and wings will soon arrive in Baltimore County.
Slim Chickens is preparing to open its latest location in a Hunt Valley storefront at 11300 York Road, according to a news release from the business. The spot’s official grand opening has been slated for Monday, but was rescheduled for March 9, per a second news release.
“I like bringing new things to town. I was looking at a bunch of different chicken concepts, and I landed on Slim’s,” said Brad Hoag, owner of Slim Chickens’ parent restaurant group, Phoenix Foods, in an interview. Throughout his career, Hoag has operated Burger King, Qdoba Mexican Eats and Nalley Fresh franchises in Maryland. “I like the product [at Slim Chickens]. I thought it was relevant, and wanted to bring it here to Baltimore.”
The business already has three locations in Maryland — in Gambrills, Bowie and Clinton — where it serves up chicken tenders and wings tossed in sauce, stuffed in sandwich buns and mixed into salads, and “Mac Bowls.” The business will also join the ranks of several other chicken-and-waffle spots across Baltimore with tender-topped waffles of its own.
