Jimmy’s Famous Seafood goes viral for response to article

(WBFF) — A local seafood restaurant made national waves online as the Winter Olympics came to a close.

HuffPost sent a tweet captioned “If waving the American flag or chanting ‘USA!’ turns you off right now, you’re not alone,” which linked to an article on their website.

Jimmy’s Famous Seafood, already known for having an active presence on social media, responded to the tweet with three words: “Go f*** yourself.”

The exchange went viral online, with the Jimmy’s response receiving over 17 million views in the 48 hours after it was posted.

Some Maryland lawmakers even weighed in:

Jimmy’s owner John Minadakis said he sent the tweet from the restaurant’s account. He added that the response came while basking in the glow of the United States’ victory in the men’s hockey gold medal game.
