WASHINGTON (TNND) β The 2025 Major League Soccer champions, Inter Miami CF, will visit the White House on Thursday.
The 4 p.m. visit with President Donald Trump will celebrate the team’s win and Lionel Messi could attend the ceremony with co-owner and former soccer standout David Beckham.
Inter Miami beat the Vancouver Whitecaps 3-1 in December to claim the title.
The team traveled to Washington, D.C. on Thursday morning ahead of the visit and a match against D.C. United in Baltimore on Saturday.
The visit would be Messi’s first to the White House. He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom from former President Joe Biden in January of last year, but did not attend due to a scheduling conflict.
Trump has shared his interest in the sport ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
