BALTIMORE (WBFF) — A deadly shooting of a juvenile in Baltimore’s Medfield community has residents on edge, adding to concerns about recent juvenile crime in the area.
Ralph, who was walking his dog in a park in Medfield, described the neighborhood as “a nice little hamlet,” but said that feeling was shaken by the response he saw around the time of the shooting.
“Just a lot of police cars and ambulances. Actually, I saw a fire truck, too, so it must have been a couple different things going on,” he said.

Baltimore police responded to a report of a shooting shortly before 6:30 p.m. on March 7. Police said they found a juvenile inside a home who had been shot. The victim was taken to the hospital, but later died.
Residents said the shooting is the latest in a string of incidents involving juveniles in Medfield.
One resident, reacting to a separate case involving a chase of a stolen car that ended near her home and across the street from Friday’s shooting, said, “The whole highway down here, the front street, up and down by the school was all blocked off by the police and helicopters, the Marshalls and K9 dogs and everything like that.”
In that case, four juveniles were arrested, including two with prior robbery arrests.
“I just wish that they would stop doing it,” the resident said.
Some residents also pointed to a previous shooting in the neighborhood.
“I would imagine it’s probably another teenager that shot him over some kind of beef,” one resident said.

Two years ago, another 16-year-old was shot in the middle of the afternoon not far from the resident’s home.
“Any kind of violence that’s happening so close by, it’s concerning. I mean, even if it was targeted towards somebody else, it’s still close by. You don’t know, there could be a stray bullet or something,” the resident said.
Baltimore police told FOX45 News they have no suspect in Friday’s deadly shooting and have not said what may have led up to it.
Back at the dog park, Ralph said the violence is difficult to process.
“It’s guns and kids and dealing with young people trying to keep them on the right path. It’s really a struggle now, and I don’t know what to say about that,” he said.
