WASHINGTON (TNND) — Disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein said during his first interview from prison that he will be proven innocent.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter published Tuesday, Weinstein said that he would be proven innocent.
“It sounds like what you’re most regretful for is cheating on your wife,” the reporter said to Weinstein during the interview. “Are you sorry for your transgressions beyond that?”
“I misled them,” he responded.
Weinstein was convicted of rape and sexual assault in two different cases. In New York, he was sentenced to 23 years, but it was overturned in 2024. A retrial happened and he got a criminal sexual act conviction in 2025.
In Los Angeles, he was sentenced to 16 years for rape and sexual assault in 2023 against a European model.
During the interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Weinstein was asked if he had ever been physically harmed while in prison.
“One time while I was waiting to use the phone, I asked the guy in front of me if he was done,” Weinstein answered.
When asked about if his younger kids know his situation, he said they know everything.

“They know everything,” he said. “They are old enough to google. But I told them I never sexually assaulted anyone, and they believe me. Back when I was in Bellevue, it was easier to see them. I won’t allow my daughter to come and see me here.”
