WASHINGTON (TNND) — On the West Coast of the United States, there has been an ongoing push for law enforcement and really everyone, to remain on high alert, as first reported by ABC news.

With the Academy Awards just a few days away, some are raising concerns about an FBI memo sent to law enforcement agencies across California, warning them in early February the agency had received unverified information that Iran aspired to “conduct a surprise attack using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV’s) from an unidentified vessel off the coast of the United States homeland” to target California.
“I just think logistically, you have a very, very broad, open coastline on the western coast of the united states. It goes down into Mexico, down into those areas down there as a kind of a quick escape route, if you will,” said Karl de la Guerra, an International Security Consultant, in an interview with The National News Desk Thursday.
But he and many others also believe the warning was simply a reminder to stay vigilant, that the threat level remains low.
In a post online, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said, “the tip was based on unverified intelligence.”
“As we have seen over the last few months in Venezuela, our capabilities at seaborne interdiction are very good.

President Donald Trump has touted the success of the U.S. – Israeli military campaign in destroying Iran’s Air force and Navy.
But his Trump’s former head of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Mark Morgan, is warning a threat is real due to the large numbers of people who entered the country during the Biden administration, and were allowed to stay from 160 countries, including those known to sponsor terrorism.
“Syria, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq and wait for Iran.. I’m not even worried about a drone coming from Mexico. I’m worried about somebody that’s already in here, that’s been let in here and is going to actually go to a local store and buy a drone themselves and do an attack within the United States from the United States,” said Morgan, in an interview with The National News Desk on Thursday.
Morgan is part of a new group called the Mass Deportation Coalition, pushing the Trump administration to refocus its efforts on deporting all eligible migrants, and not just violent criminals or the so-called “worst of the worst.”
While Trump has acknowledged the possibility of sleeper cells inside the country, he told reporters Wednesday we know where most of the people are adding we got our eyes on all of them.
