CLARKSVILLE, Ind. (WKRC) — An Indiana man and former college dean is facing drug charges after a yearlong narcotics investigation.
Alan Jay White, 59, is accused of dealing methamphetamine. He was arrested March 7 after police say they found 78 grams of meth stashed in White’s house during a raid. An undisclosed amount of counterfeit cash was also discovered, along with other drug paraphernalia.
Police said White was operating under the nickname “The Professor,” which stems from his former job as a dean.
“He’s definitely no Walter White,” Clarksville Police Chief Nathan Walls said in a statement, referring to the protagonist of the television show “Breaking Bad,” which features a chemistry-teacher-turned-meth-cook. “This is yet another example of the dedication of our officers. Working long investigations can be tedious at times, and I think this really showcases their patience.”
Louisville news outlet WAVE interviewed White following his arrest. He didn’t deny that drugs were found in his home, but he claims they’re not his.
“They didn’t find stacks of monies. They did not find stacks of dope. They did not find guns. You know how they like to do the little thing where they lay it out on the table and show y’all all the stuff they got? And the reason they didn’t find that is because I’m not involved in that. If they’ve literally been following me for years, as they said, somebody’s got to answer to their boss about what an incredible waste of resources it was,” he told the outlet. “I’m saying if they found anything, it was maybe $250 worth, and it wasn’t even mine,” said White.
White is charged with dealing in methamphetamine, counterfeiting and possession of drug paraphernalia.
