Four people have been indicted in connection with the drive-by shooting that claimed the life of a 14-year-old boy in Greenbelt, Maryland, last year.

According to the Greenbelt Police Department, the arrests stem from an October 2025 homicide investigation into the death of Cartlin Bayong, who was killed in a drive-by shooting.

The Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office said those facing charges include Jamarri Ruffin, 18, Abdourahmane Sylla, 18, and two underage boys.

They all face first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first-degree assault, and use of a firearm in the commission of a violent felony.

Police said detectives spent months reviewing evidence and working with regional law enforcement partners to find the people responsible.

Bayong was shot and killed on Oct. 5, 2025, prompting a homicide investigation that remained active until the recent arrests.
