Virginia duo arrested after police find stolen vehicle, loaded Glock handgun in Severn

Two people were arrested on Tuesday evening in Severn after they were found driving a stolen car and in possession of a loaded gun, the Anne Arundel County Police Department announced Thursday.

On April 28, around 6:45 p.m., officers received an automated license plate reader alert regarding a stolen blue Dodge Journey in the area of Reece and Telegraph Roads.

Responding officers found the vehicle, confirmed it was stolen.

Both the driver, Mercadi Garza, 22, of Richmond, Virginia, and Aiyonah Fields, 22, also of Richmond, were arrested.

Fields was charged with the unlawful possession of a loaded Glock 9mm handgun.
