MARYLAND (WBFF) — President Donald Trump is weighing on an error in some mail-in ballots in the state of Maryland.
The State Board of Elections confirmed the error that would lead some voters to receive the wrong party for the Gubernatorial Primary Election.
As a precaution, the state is resending all ballots regardless of whether someone received the correct one initially.
Now, Trump is addressing the error.
Trump posted the following message on Truth Social:
In Maryland, they sent out 500,000 Illegal Mail In Ballots, and they got caught! So now, they’re going to send out 500,000 more Mail In Ballots, but nobody knows what’s happening with the first 500,000 they sent. In addition, many of these Ballots went to Democrats, so any Republican running in Maryland doesn’t have a chance! This was done by the Corrupt Governor of the State, Wes Moore. He allowed this to happen in order to make sure that Democrats win. It never made sense to me that Maryland was considered an automatic Democrat State, but now I see why. I’m sure this has gone on for years. I’m going to ask the Attorney General of the United States, and the DOJ, to bring an immediate investigation into this situation. President DONALD J. TRUMP
The Maryland Freedom Caucus previously released a statement on the mail-in ballot error: “The Maryland Democrats and the bureaucrats over at the Board of Elections have proven once again that they are the biggest purveyors of voter suppression tactics in the state of Maryland. After it was brought to light that roughly 400,000 mail-in ballots were sent out incorrectly, voters who received these flawed ballots will now receive a second ballot according to the state.”
State election leaders say they are committed to running a secure and accurate operation, and that there is no proof of fraud.
