Person hospitalized after explosion in Annapolis, fire officials investigate

A person was hospitalized after an explosion in Annapolis, Anne Arundel County fire officials said.

Around 2 p.m. on June 2, crews were called to a reported structure fire at 3005 Friends Road.

There, crews found a detached garage and a person with injuries resulting from an explosion, according to authorities.

Officials later determined there was no fire.

A male was treated by EMS and then transported to the hospital in critical condition.

There is no threat to the community at this time, according to fire officials.
