
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (7News) — The heavy gusts from Thursday’s storms knocked down trees and power lines across Montgomery County, including in one Silver Spring neighborhood that resulted in a car catching fire.
According to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service officials, a live power line was knocked down underneath a car, igniting it.
7News On Your Side arrived to the scene as fire crews finished extinguishing the flames.
A spokesperson for the the fire department said nobody was inside the car at the time of the blaze, and nobody was hurt.
Around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, crews were called to dozens of power lines down, as well as multiple trees.
