CECIL COUNTY, Md. — A team of Deputy State Fire Marshals are actively investigating a boat explosion in Cecil County that left nine people injured, according to the Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal.
On July 4, at around 4:20 p.m., Volunteer Fire Company #1 of Chesapeake City, along with Cecil County Paramedics, and several other departments responded to Schaefer’s Canal House for reported boat explosion, said authorities.
Nine people were injured, seven were on the boat and two on a nearby dock.
Four people were flown by Maryland State Police Aviation Command, and the remainder were transported by ground to local facilities.
