BALTIMORE (WBFF) — Burglars smashed their way into a Canton taco shop early Wednesday, leaving behind a shattered front door and renewed concerns for nearby businesses that have faced similar break-ins in recent months.
Surveillance cameras captured the moment suspects broke through the front door of Taquería El Sabor del Parque. Baltimore police said the burglary happened around 3 a.m. on July 15 along Eastern Avenue.

Police said the suspects broke the front glass door, walked back to the cash register and fled. Owners said there was no money inside, but the burglars still destroyed the machine before leaving.
In the aftermath, employees and residents encouraged community members to support the family-owned business by stopping in this week.
“That would make me want to visit and frequent more. I might go back in and just at least get another soda and throw them another tip,” resident Ben Difenderfer said.
The break-in comes just months after another Canton restaurant, Wanna Smash, was hit in April in a similar way, with burglars smashing the front of the business.
“If it’s something that’s being targeted, that just kind of leaves that feeling of almost like an invasion of privacy. If there are people plotting on something that you’re used to and comfortable about, that kind of makes you feel uneasy,” Difenderfer said.
Police said detectives later charged 31-year-old Raymond Smith in the Wanna Smash case. When asked whether there may be a connection between the two break-ins, investigators said they do not have evidence linking the cases.
Police said the Taquería El Sabor del Parque burglary remains under investigation and no arrests have been made.
