BALTIMORE (WBFF) — A teenager and an adult are behind bars after Baltimore police say they robbed a man at gunpoint in Harbor East.
According to investigators, a 17-year-old and a 22-year-old approached a man near the IHOP on East Pratt Street, pulled out a gun, assaulted him and stole his property before running away.
Police say officers quickly tracked both suspects down and arrested them.
The arrest comes as Baltimore continues to grapple with juvenile violent crime.

“We just kind of got to think things can be anywhere, any place in time. so, you know, even though we’re here, and it’s supposed to be a safe area, things can be anywhere.”
Mayor Brandon Scott has acknowledged issues with Baltimore’s juvenile crime, but for many residents that isn’t enough.
“Resign. Let somebody else take over,” said one resident.
Cases like this also raise another question, where does parental accountability fit into preventing young people from allegedly committing violent crimes?
“It’s hard, but they need to know where their kids are. they need to when, hey mom, am i going to the store? What store are you going to? Sometimes you need to accompany your kids to the store. You know, you need to know your kids’ regular behavior,” said another resident.
Police say both suspects are now charged with armed robbery, and the juvenile will be charged as an adult.
FOX45 will continue to ask city leaders what role parental accountability should play in addressing juvenile crime, as they work to reform what Mayor Brandon Scott has called a “broken” juvenile justice system.
