If you listen closely, you can hear the absolute crickets from Democrats over the abysmal state in which they left the women of Afghanistan. After Joe Biden abandoned the country — gifting the Taliban billions in American military equipment and killing 13 soldiers in the process — observers knew that women and girls in the country would suffer under Taliban rule.
Now, women and girls aren’t allowed to go to school, hold jobs, leave their houses, or even be seen in the windows of their homes. They’re also not able to access medical care because Islam forbids them from seeing male doctors, and women can’t be doctors. That means women will get sick and die, and maternal deaths are predicted to rise by 50 percent this year.
The Taliban also reportedly banned contraception, which means women are getting pregnant, facing miscarriages, and unable to access care for delivery.

Since returning to power in 2021, the Taliban administration has issued a steady, escalating series of restrictions targeting women’s access to healthcare — culminating in a ban on contraception that has removed one of the last remaining tools Afghan women had to make decisions about their own survival.
The consequences are not theoretical. Maternal deaths in Afghanistan are projected to rise by 50% in 2026. Women are giving birth without doctors, miscarrying without treatment, and dying from conditions that a single prescription could have prevented.
This is not collateral damage. This is the point.

They’re not just selfish; they know Islamists will do this in the U.K., Australia, Canada, and the U.S., too. If we allow them to. The silence is part of taqiyya, the Islamic practice of lying about and hiding one’s face to deceive non-believers.
But more to the point: I hear not a peep from the United Nations, Amnesty International, or Planned Parenthood. Nothing.
Where are the Democrats and their American media allies who told me back in 2012 and 2016 that guys like Mitt Romney and Mike Pence weren’t just going to put gays in camps, but that they were going to outlaw birth control and tampons? They’re awfully quiet.
Joe Biden made removing any and all guardrails from the birth control pill a big part of his administration. That means women can get the drug without oversight, without proper medical follow-up, and without verification that they’re medically safe to take mifepristone, which carries a black-box warning. Women have died because of this and have been harmed. Biden did this to undermine the Dobbs ruling and infringe on state sovereignty by overriding pro-life laws. I understand Biden’s brain is tapioca at this point, but where’s Jill? Where’s Barack Obama? Where is Michelle Obama?
None of them — who all love abortion and birth control — have said a word. Instead, Democrats take Catholics to court to force them to fund birth control and abortions in a nation where you can buy the former over-the-counter at Walgreens and the latter is also (tragically) readily available.
Women should keep this in the back of their minds when they go to the polls and pull the lever for the Muslim-appeasing Democrats. Because what’s happening to women in Afghanistan will happen to women here, too.
