Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG), the developers of the proposed Maryland Piedmont Reliability Project, filed a second lawsuit trying to gain access to 149 additional properties along the proposed 67-mile route.

To date, overwhelmingly, residents living along the route, which runs through Baltimore, Carroll and Frederick County, have resisted PSEG’s efforts to access their private property in order to conduct land and environmental surveys deemed necessary in the state-approval process.

With PSEG unable to conduct the surveys, they filed a lawsuit in federal court seeking access to some of the properties along the route. In June, a judge ruled in their favor granting PSEG permission to enter private property and remain on the property “to the extent reasonably necessary” to perform surveys or gather other information related to the proposed transmission line.
