BALTIMORE (WBFF) — Christmas tree recycling in Baltimore County will begin on Monday, January 5, 2026, and will continue for two weeks.
Pickup dates will vary by location and are not scheduled in advance. To ensure collection, residents must place their trees outside by January 11.
It is noted that trees may not be collected on your regular trash or recycling collection day, so leave them out until they are collected.
Residents should place their trees for pickup at the exact location where they usually put their trash or recycling.

The following guidelines must be followed when placing trees outside:
Collectors will pick up the trees using standard trash and recycling trucks and deliver them to facilities where they will be chipped and used as mulch.
Residents living in apartments or condos are encouraged to follow their property managers’ rules for recycling Christmas trees.
For those who wish to drop off their Christmas trees, there are three drop-off locations in the County.
