16-year-old charged after crashing stolen vehicle in Baltimore

A 16-year-old was charged after he crashed a stolen car in north Baltimore on Tuesday morning, according to the Baltimore Police Department.

On April 21, around 3:32 a.m., officers responded to reports of a crash in the 100 block of West University Park.

Upon arrival, police saw medics and fire personnel tending to a 16-year-old boy, who was later identified as the driver.

He was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment, according to BPD.

Detectives say the 16-year-old was driving a stolen 2012 Kia Rio when he lost control, causing it to flip over into a wooded area.

Once he is released from the hospital, the 16-year-old suspect will be taken to the Juvenile Justice Center and charged accordingly, police said.
