MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (7News) — 18 people were evaluated, and 10 of those people, including 3 kids, were sent to multiple hospitals after a moving truck lost control and crashed into several vehicles in Fairland, Maryland, on Saturday afternoon.
The crash happened around 1:43 p.m. July 18 at the intersection of Columbia Pike (U.S. 29) and Fairland Road.
Authorities initially said multiple people were trapped. However, firefighters later confirmed everyone involved in the crash was able to escape the destroyed vehicles before crews showed up.
According to Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service (MCFRS) and Montgomery County police, investigators believe a moving truck lost control and ran into multiple cars.
Officials said a Tesla Cybertruck was split in half during the crash.
MCFRS later reported that seven vehicles and 18 people were involved.

10 people were taken to nearby hospitals with minor injuries, including three children. They are all expected to survive.
Eight other people were evaluated at the scene and declined transportation to a hospital.
Six ambulances, including three Advanced Life Support (ALS) units and three Basic Life Support (BLS) units, responded to the scene.
The crash closed northbound U.S. 29 at Musgrove Road, causing major traffic delays while emergency crews worked to help victims and clear the scene.
As of 3:18 p.m., access through the crash scene remained limited to passing cars. Drivers should expect delays and be cautious in the area.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
