
PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (7News) — An 18-year-old man is facing multiple charges in connection with an armed carjacking and a separate shooting, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department.
The victim of the carjacking is the elected clerk of the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County which was first reported by 7News’ Brad Bell.

Police said Kairee Hicks, of Bowie, was arrested following the carjacking reported around 12:40 p.m. on April 16 in the 1900 block of Grand Way Boulevard.
Investigators said Hicks approached the female victim, displayed a handgun, and stole her 2014 Lexus sedan. She was not physically injured, police said.
Detectives later located her stolen vehicle in the Lanham area on Friday.
When officers attempted to stop the car, Hicks allegedly fled, leading police on a brief pursuit that ended in a crash.

Authorities said he then ran from the scene but was captured after a coordinated search.
During the arrest, officers recovered a loaded handgun with an obliterated serial number, along with additional evidence tying him to the carjacking.
Hicks is now charged with multiple offenses, including armed carjacking, use of a firearm in a crime of violence, illegal possession of a handgun, and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.

In addition to the carjacking charges, detectives have obtained a warrant charging Hicks in connection with a separate shooting that occurred April 10 in the 7100 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Highway. Investigators said he shot and seriously wounded a man during a dispute.
