
FREDERICK, Md. (7News) — Two people were arrested by Maryland State Police (MSP) after a hit-and-run crash left a West Virginia State Police (WVSP) trooper injured on Wednesday evening.
According to MSP, its Aviation Command’s Trooper 3 unit in Frederick, Maryland, was asked to help WVSP find two suspects who struck a trooper’s patrol vehicle with their car and fled the scene of the crash around 7 p.m.

Law enforcement officials said the trooper was subsequently injured because of the crash. There is no word on their condition.
After arriving at the scene, Trooper 3 learned that one suspect was in custody while a male suspect was still on the run.

MSP said troopers from its agency used an MX-15 Wescam camera to find the suspect, while WVSP troopers looked for him on foot.
The flight crew ultimately tracked the man through the woods and across Edsel Avenue near Martinsburg, W. Va., where he was arrested without incident.
