Two adults were found dead inside a Montgomery County, Maryland, home after crews found high levels of carbon monoxide on Saturday, according to county Fire and Rescue officials.

Crews were called to a home on the 12700 block of Fernberry Lane in Boyds at around 3:20 p.m. after relatives found the two unresponsive in the home during a welfare check.

Officials said the house had high concentrations of carbon monoxide, and firefighters found a vehicle running in the garage.

Both adults were pronounced dead at the scene; fire and rescue officials believe both people likely died due to carbon monoxide poisoning.

Officials said work was underway to ventilate the house.
