2 injured after car crashes into living room of Germantown home

Two people were hurt late Thursday night when a vehicle slammed into a Germantown home, officials said.

Technical rescue crews with the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) responded around 11:30 p.m. to the 13600 block of Palmetto Circle for a crash involving a vehicle that struck a building with people trapped, according to MCFRS spokesperson Pete Piringer.

Firefighters found a car that had crashed into the living room of the home. Two people inside the vehicle were trapped and had to be removed from the wreckage.

Both had non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.

Two people who were in an upstairs bedroom at the time of the crash were safely assisted out of the home and were not hurt.

Piringer said the crash caused significant structural damage to the home and displaced one family.

Photos posted by Piringer on X show the vehicle partially hanging off the side of the house and extensive damage to the structure.
