
PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (7News) — Three individuals, including two young people, were rushed to the hospital after a major crash involving a tanker truck and an SUV in Maryland’s Prince George’s County area on Sunday afternoon.
According to Maryland State Police (MSP), troopers from the College Park Barracks responded around 2:20 p.m. to Crain Highway at Old Central Avenue in Upper Marlboro for reports of a two-vehicle crash.
State troopers said preliminary findings show the crash involved a tractor-trailer tanker and an SUV.

Prince George’s County Fire and EMS (PGFD) said emergency crews arrived at the scene and found multiple people who were hurt, including someone who had been thrown from a vehicle during the crash.
Hazmat crews were also called to secure the contents of the tanker truck.
Authorities said three people were taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital. One juvenile was considered to be in critical condition. A second person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but is expected to survive, and a third person was taken to the hospital for medical evaluation.
Southbound U.S. Route 301 (Crain Highway) was shut down, with a single lane currently open as crews continue to investigate and clear the scene.
MSP officials said the agency is leading the investigation and is looking into what caused the crash.
