A teen was killed after car gets hit by another car and crashes into a tree

An 18-year-old was killed in a car accident in Madera County on Friday.

CHP officers responded to a car accident in the area of Avenue 21 and Road 28-1/2 at around 10:30 a.m.

An 18-year-old was driving a Ford Escape southbound on Road 28-1/2 when he entered the intersection.

He was then hit on the driver’s side by a jeep traveling westbound on Avenue 21.

The impact sent the Ford spinning off the roadway before crashing into a tree.

Despite life-saving measures, the teen was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the jeep was identified as a 59-year-old woman who received minor injuries.

Both drivers were reported to be wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.

CHP says that drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in this crash.
