Accidental firearm discharge injures contractor inside Baltimore police station

Baltimore Police are investigating an accidental firearm discharge that injured a contractor inside the Northern District police station Tuesday morning.

According to police, the incident occurred around 9:45 a.m. on Jan. 7, while officers from the department’s Range and Firearms Training Section were conducting a scheduled shotgun inspection inside the station.

During the inspection, one of the shotguns discharged, striking a wall inside the building.

Debris from the impact struck a female contractor in the leg. Police say the contractor was at the end of the hallway at the time.

The injured woman was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where she was treated for minor injuries.
