BALTIMORE (WBFF) — Baltimore Police are investigating an accidental firearm discharge that injured a contractor inside the Northern District police station Tuesday morning.
According to police, the incident occurred around 9:45 a.m. on Jan. 7, while officers from the department’s Range and Firearms Training Section were conducting a scheduled shotgun inspection inside the station.
During the inspection, one of the shotguns discharged, striking a wall inside the building.

Debris from the impact struck a female contractor in the leg. Police say the contractor was at the end of the hallway at the time.
The injured woman was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where she was treated for minor injuries.

Members of the Baltimore Police Department’s Special Investigations Response Team responded to the scene and are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accidental discharge.
