MARYLAND (WBFF) — As Annapolis prepares for next month’s opening of a special legislative session, questions about the state’s priorities are surfacing.
“I do not trust Governor Wes Moore.” insisted Nicole Hassannia, an intelligence expert and Annapolis resident.
Lawmakers are expected to consider a constitutional amendment aimed at relaxing state laws surrounding congressional redistricting.
Business owner Justin Chamerlain questioned whether redistricting was Maryland’s most pressing issue. “Look around you see people sleeping on the streets roads are crappy.” “I think its largely unnecessary but who’s going to stop it,” asked musician Mike Numera.

“When you start to get into semantics like gerrymandering you start taking decisions away from people and America was built on the pursuit of happiness and that’s the things we try to stand on,” said Chamberlain.
Some Annapolis residents believe lawmakers have lost their way.
“I don’t think they’re experiencing the same level of existence as the people they represent,” said Numera.
“The taxes make it impossible to live here and I have done well…imagine the people who have not,” said Hassannia.
