BALTIMORE (WBFF) — Authorities are continuing to investigate crimes around Baltimore’s Inner Harbor from Sunday.
Baltimore police charged a Baltimore County man with murder after a fight ended in the water in Harbor East on Sunday.
36-year-old James Fitzsimmons, of Parkville, is facing several charges including second degree murder and manslaughter in connection to the death of James Britt, 37, of Baltimore.
Officers were called to the 1300 block of Lancaster Street near the Whole Foods in Harbor East around 1 p.m. on August 2.

There, investigators said Fitzsimmons had pushed Britt into the water as Britt was retreating from him after the two got into a fight. It’s unclear what sparked the fight.
A dive team recovered Britt’s body and homicide detectives were notified. An autopsy will determine an exact cause of death.
Fitzsimmons remains in custody.

This was the second water-related rescue police had responded to in the City on Sunday.
Just a couple of hours earlier, and less than two miles east, a 48-year-old man was pulled from the water off Boston Street near the Trash Wheel in Canton.
Baltimore Police said William Rowe, 48, jumped into the water while fleeing from another man who had confronted him about his motorcycle that had been stolen earlier that day.
Investigators said Rowe brandished a knife during the altercation, but no serious injuries were reported.
Rowe was taken into custody and charged with auto theft.
