Baltimore man charged after armed drug dealing reported in rideshare car

A Baltimore man is facing charges after allegedly dealing drugs while armed in the backseat of a rideshare driver’s car on Wednesday night in Linthicum, the Anne Arundel County Police Department announced Thursday.

On April 1, around 9:10 p.m., officers responded to the 700 block of Elkridge Landing Road for a report of an armed individual.

The caller, a rideshare driver, told police he went inside a business and called 911 after a passenger in his vehicle was allegedly in possession of a firearm and also dealing drugs.

Once officers arrived at the scene, they found the suspect, later identified as 31-year-old Montarius Wise, seated in the backseat of the caller’s vehicle.

Wise complied with officers and exited the vehicle and was detained.

A loaded handgun was recovered from Wise’s waistband, along with 1.76 grams of suspected heroin/fentanyl, .69 grams of suspected cocaine, six suspected oxycodone pills and 5.1 grams of suspected marijuana.
