Baltimore man charged with attempted murder in Bateman Avenue shooting: police

A 62-year-old Baltimore man has been arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder in connection with a shooting that wounded a 55-year-old man in northwest Baltimore.

Investigators said Melvin Talbot, 62, of Baltimore, was arrested in connection with the shooting of a 55-year-old man on May 30, in the 3900 block of Bateman Avenue.

Police said that on May 30, at approximately 5:30 p.m., officers responded to a home in the 3900 block of Bateman Avenue for a reported shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a 55-year-old man suffering an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

On June 1, police said Talbot was taken into custody and transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged with attempted second-degree murder.
