Baltimore man sentenced to 20 years for armed carjacking at Fells Point gas station

BALTIMORE (WBFF) — A Baltimore man has been sentenced to decades behind bars for an armed carjacking at a Fells Point gas station in 2025, according to the US Attorney’s Office of Maryland.

Officials said Ron Wardlow, 27, was sentenced to 20 years in prison followed by five years of supervised release for carjacking, using, carrying, and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, and possession of ammunition by a prohibited person.

Wardlow was convicted of these charges in April 2026 and was also previously convicted of a robbery at the same gas station where he was later arrested, authorities reported.

Evidence presented in the trial revealed that on February 27, 2025, Wardlow, who was wearing a mask and gloves, approached two victims at a Fells Point gas station and asked them for a ride.

One of the victims refused, and Wardlow followed the victim around the car, pulling out a 9mm Glock loaded with 31-rounds, according to the report.

Wardlow aimed the gun at the victim and demanded the car keys. The victim complied and handed over the keys, after which Wardlow drove away. The victim then called 911.

Officials reported that some of the victims’ electronics were in the car, which helped them track the devices.

Activity stopped in the Liberty Heights neighborhood, leading victims to assume that Wardlow tossed the devices out of the vehicle.

Later on, the victims went to the spot where the devices were tracked and found the victim’s car still running, but officials said the car then backed up and drove away.

The victim called police again to alert them to the location.

Officers from the Regional Auto Theft Task Force (RATT) tracked the car to a nearby gas station.

When authorities arrived, they saw Wardlow, who fled on foot.

Authorities eventually found Wardlow hiding in the entryway of a cellar.

When officers searched Wardlow, they found the mask and gloves that he wore during the carjacking. Officers also found a bag in the car that contained a loaded Glock 9mm that Wardlow pointed towards one of the victims.

Wardlow will now spend the next 20 years in prison for these crimes.
