Baltimore police investigate two early morning shootings

Baltimore police are investigating two separate shootings that occurred early Saturday morning, one of which was fatal, officials said.

On March 21, around 3:00 a.m., officers responded to a nearby hospital after a shooting victim arrived seeking treatment.

Once there, officials reported finding a 36-year-old man who had sustained a gunshot wound to his leg.

The man is listed in stable condition.

Preliminary investigation indicated that he was shot at the 3600 block of Hamilton Avenue, police said.

Northeast District detectives are investigating and urge anyone with information to contact them at 410-396-2444.

Then at 4:30 a.m., officers responded to a reported shooting at the 700 block of North Port Street.

Officers arrived on scene to find an unidentified male victim with a gunshot wound to the head.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

Homicide Detectives are investigating that shooting and urge anyone with information to contact them at 410-396-2100.
