BALTIMORE (WBFF) — Just days after a 74-year-old man was brutally attacked outside of a Liberty Heights 7/Eleven, the store was robbed.
Baltimore Police said a group of young people broke in and stole tobacco products.
Now, residents said they’re becoming increasingly frustrated as crime involving juveniles continues to make headlines.
“I would say it’s probably because it’s no more recreational centers for kids,” Baltimore resident Tat Burch said. “It’s like nothing for them to do. Like when I was growing up, I’m an 80’s baby, so we had little recreational centers that we could go to. Now it’s like they don’t exist.”

“You know kids right now don’t have anything to do. Nothing. The mayor and Baltimore City, the whole council is corrupt,” resident James Scott said.
Police said around midnight Friday, someone reported seeing multiple male juveniles inside the business.
Detectives believe the group fled with cigarettes and cigars before officers arrived.
The burglary comes as investigators continue searching for the group accused of attacking a 74-year-old man outside the same store earlier this month.
The latest break-in is also renewing questions about accountability.
What are the parents doing? Are they concerned about where their children are at?” Burch asked.
“I’d like to see the mayor outside more often by himself,” Scott said.
For now, detectives are investigating whether the burglary and the earlier assault are connected.
Police are still looking for the six suspects seen in the surveillance video from the July 7 attack. Anyone with information about that case or the overnight burglary at the same 7/Eleven is asked to contact police.
